Diplomats told market Uganda

OLIVE Zaitun Kigongo, Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI), President has advised the newly appointed senior diplomats to market Ugandan products.

In a speech read for her by her deputy Hajji Mutwalib Tesikuba Sajjabi, Kigongo said: “With these existing networks, we believe your placement can play a leading role in creating market avenues for Uganda’s products and services.”

“As you go to these countries, see the set-up of business activities there and borrow a leaf from them to improve business back home. People also want to see what we achieve through the years and its you to show them what we have in Uganda,” Tezikuba said.

Tezikuba also advised the Ambassadors to use the chamber as a focal point for business activities in Uganda.
He advised government to provide each diplomatic mission with commercial attaches, whose role should be to provide business information.

The newly appointed diplomats include Christopher Anyanga Apaar (Germany), Jacob Okello Agwaa-(DRC), Kweronda Ruhemba-Geneva and Elizabeth Paula Napeyon (Russia).

Others are Brig. Matayo Kyaligonza-(Kenya), Deo Rwabita-Brussels, Mirjam Black (deputy Belgium), Wasswa Birigwa (Ethiopia) and Agnes Kalibala, (Kenya).

Kyaligonza advised UNCCI to avail detailed current information so that it is easily available when required at all embassies.
