TODAY is St. Valentines Day. We thank our readers for participating in choosing the most charming Ugandan personalities. The survey ran from January 23 to Feb 9 and this is what Denis Jjuuko and Sebbide Kiryowa unravelled.

1. Speciosa Wandira Kazibwe, Word is out. The people have spoken. Kazibwe is the most charming (read desirable) woman in Uganda. The medic, apparently a darling of many, beat her closest rival by 50 votes. Her biggest assets turned out to be her big droopy eyes and ‘good’ personality. A text message read: “She has those dreamy eyes.” The VP’s “openness when it comes to matters pertaining to sex and love” also endears her to many Ugandan men. Others included the brains and that she has a remarkable sense of humour. A few readers named her prosperity, power and financial security as a definite attraction. “She is independent and able take care of herself,” a reader wrote.

2. Justice Julia Ssebutinde. The lady justice followed Kazibwe closely in the polls. Her eyes were the ones most talked about by the readers. “Even when she is annoyed, her beauty is still evident. I saw this during the Junk Chopper Probe,” an E-mail read in part. Others said she is very descent and would love to spend some good time with the lady that makes army generals shiver during her corruption probes.

3. Lady Sylvia Nagginda. The third spot goes to the queen of Buganda. Lady Nagginda has very juicy lips according to the voters. “She is always smart, extremely beautiful, respectable has a very warm smile,” one voter said in a text message.

4. Natasha Karugire. The first daughter comes fourth in this survey. Pretty, charming, great figure and nice eyes are among other things that were mentioned. One caller said: “Even when she shed tears on Patience’s wedding, her beauty remained intact.”

5. Mary Musoke. The world of sports was well represented here as the table tennis star takes over the fifth position. Her eyes were over mentioned and “she looks terrific with her smile.”

6. Titi. The KADS band singer of the Makanika Wange/Ssegwanga fame takes the sixth spot. The readers showed their love this time not with the top-of-the-charts songs but with the individual behind them. Oh yes, 50 readers expressed their wish to spend this evening with her. Reason: Titie has a very hairy body." Her voice was mentioned as well and one voter said: "It gives me sleepless nights."

7. Natasha Sinayobye. The former Miss MTN had so many invalid votes as they came from the same mobile telephone number. Because of this she falls to position seven otherwise she would have beaten the Vice-President. Her dimples were the ones mentioned most. Her body is well curved and generally beautiful according to the readers.

8. Winnie Byanyima. The Mbarara Municipality MP is in the eighth position. Her voice was mentioned. Charming, intelligent and “a very nice long neck,” according to one particular voter. Her height wasn’t left out. Her kitengi dress code was also mentioned as one thing that makes her look smart.

9. Best Kemigisa and Joy Nandawula. Best, the Toro queen mother and Joy, the EC lady who once made first page headlines in the local dailies, were tied in the ninth position. For Best, her colour complexion was over mentioned and “her figure is still outstanding as that of a twenty-year-old,” reveals one Henry in a lengthy letter about the queen mother.

For Nandawula, a voter said that she has a high self-esteem and a great well-figured body made her day.

Some of the reasons voters gave for their dream dates were men with sensitivity and humour

Capt. Mike Mukula. The Soroti Municipality MP is the most charming male personality according to The New Vision readers. The word ‘smart’ was recorded in a very vote we received. Somebody had the energy to call him “Prince Charming” while another said: “He is smart, handsome and intelligent.”

2. Roger Mugisha Shadow. He is the one behind the Shadows Angels and the popular Capital FM presenter was neck and neck with Captain Mike Mukula. But the health minister was just unbeatable. Anyway, the voters said Mugisha is handsome with a lovely deep warm voice. One voter said that: “He looks sexy.” “Everything about him is fantastic.”

Charles Ssenkubuge Siasa. It is not only Shadow that had a field day among the radio stars. The erstwhile presidential candidate came third. He was described as “a real comedy” and somebody who can make you laugh the whole evening. Another just said he is the funniest man in Uganda.

4. Kato Lubwama. Popularly known as Biiso, the CBS radioman came fourth following very closely his comedian compatriot Siasa. The readers said they would love to be ‘one on one with him’ as far as sharing jokes is concerned. Very creative and confident. Also his eyes are so interesting. Another said that she would support federo because of this one man.

5. Abdul Nadduli. The Luweero LC 5 chairman gets the fifth position. Those who voted for him say he must be very loving and caring since he advocates for more children. “I just like his beard,” reads one SMS message.

6. Noble Mayombo. Number six falls to the military man. “I want to see a smile behind that serious handsome baby face of his. I would like to see him out of the uniform, dressed in a dinner suit at the coolest hotel in the world,” reads an SMS.

7. Tom Rush. The star columnist may be popular for his escapades but there are people out there who want to be part of them. And they showed it in this survey. Tom Rush comes seventh. “He has humour and I think I would love the whole evening with him,” one Denise said in a lengthy letter. Another had this to write: “Charm, wit, style, talent and unique.”

8. Elvis Ssekyanzi. The WBS executive wasn’t left out. He grabbed ninth position. “Unlike other rich people, Elvis is not proud and it seems he listens to other people’s opinions,” a written letter revealed. Good looking were the other reasons.

9. (10) Hassan Basajjabalaba. Well, the city tycoon got enough votes enabling him to get the last position of ten. There were quite a lot of reasons but the most outstanding ones zeroed on money. “After dinner at The Sheraton, he would drive me home in his sleek Mercedes,” revealed one of the messages.
