Heavily armed Kenyan Pokot pastoralists have entered Kapchorwa district with hundreds of cattle

Heavily armed Kenyan Pokot pastoralists have entered Kapchorwa district with hundreds of cattle, reports Nathan Etengu.

The LC5 chairman, Nelson Chelimo, on Wednesday said the Kenyan pastoralists were grazing their cattle in people’s gardens.

“Their cattle have destroyed crops and are also a threat to the pasture that our people were relying on,” Chelimo said.

He appealed to the UPDF to flush
out the Kenyan pastoralists.
He said the district had not yet recovered over 500 head of cattle raided by the Kenyan Pokot from Ngenge sub-county in October last year.

He said the Kenyans were occupying Riwo parish in Kabeyi sub-county and Muimet in Bukwa sub-county.
