MBARARA – The district forestry department has lifted a ban on pitsawing imposed on the Rwoho-Bugamba forest reserve a few months ago. The assistant district forestry officer, Sam Rwabukwema, recently said the ban was lifted after residents asked for permission to start pitsawing. “We had put a ban on the forest because people were abusing the it by felling trees anyhow. We have, however, lifted the ban with restrictions,†he said. Ends
