TO escape discontinuation, the penalty given to examination cheats at Makerere University, an unidentified student ran out of an exam room to a distant examination venue. When the student was caught copying 20 minutes after the beginning of the examination in Mary Stuart Dinning Hall, he immediately grabbed his registration and identity cards and ran.
The invigilator tried to run after him, but he was too quick. Knowing that other students had sat in distant halls like Nkurumah, Africa and Mitchell, the student went to Africa, the farthest hall, and claimed to have been delayed due to a very long traffic jam in town.
The invigilator in Africa Hall thought that his claims were true and gave him the paper.
The invigilator in Mary Stuart did not pursue the matter further. He did the paper successfully and later boasted. Ends
