STORMS left at least 40 families homeless in four sub-counties in Busongora, Kasese district, on Sunday.
More than 30 domestic animals, including goats and chicken, were also killed during the heavy rains.
The district councillor for Maliba sub-county, Saulo Maate, said 10 families from his area lost several acres of crops.
According to a brief survey, other affected areas included Katoke parish in Bughoye sub-county.
In Katoke, the violent winds blew away more than 10 homes.
Local authorites in Kitswamba and Rukoki sub-counties also said serious damage was done to crops, homes and livestock.
In Bughalitsa village, Rukoki sub-county, the chairman Josephat Bikeke confirmed that about 30 goats had died during the five-hour storm.
Residents in Hima town centre, Kitswamba sub-county, said nearly 80 buildings were destroyed.
Among the 80 was Hima Valley Hotel.
Last week, eight people, including three policemen and a suspect, were injured in similar incidents.
More than 30 houses were also destroyed.
This took place in Katunguru trading centre, Lake Katwe sub-county and Bikone in Maliba sub-county. Ends
