The multi-million dollar programme being supported by the Norwegian Agency for Co-operation (NORAD), and the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) will cover Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Burkina Faso.

Academicians and computer experts from the six countries last week met in Kampala and elected a three-member committee to spearhead the project as well as design a regional Master of Science programme in Computer Science.

The director of the institute, Dr. Venasius Baryamureeba, heads the committee. Others are his counterparts from Nairobi University, Dr. Katherine Getao and Dr. H.M. Twaakyondo, from Dar-es-Salaam University.
