DEMBE Rally Team’s Kuku Ranjit returns to action in the MOSAC Rally due March 29-30 with a new engine.
“Hopefully we will fit in the new engine this weekend. This time I will enter as group S (unrestricted turbo charger). It is difficult to match people using a group A machine,” said the Subaru Impreza driver.
Ranjit has been out of action since he dropped out of the Caltex Havoline rally in January.
Dennis Okori will rejoin Kuku in the cockpit after co-driver Jerome Kasaija mysteriously quit.
Entries for the rally — the third round of the National Rally Championship series open on Friday and early entrants will be free to start route reccing in Mityana.
All top drivers apart from former African champion Charles Muhangi, banned from MOSAC-organised events, are expected to participate in the rally.
The event, running for the second year without a major sponsor, will start with a super special stage at Garuga double track circuit on March 29.
The next day cars will be flagged-off to Mityana to tackle 191km covering eight sections.
Triple national champion Charlie Lubega leads the championship with 150 points. Moses Lumala (140) and Emma Katto (110) are second and third respectively.
