THE ten pin-bowling league rolled off at Alleygators alley on Tuesday at Garden City.

The competition was officially launched by Mike Olsen, marketing manager of Nile Breweries, who are the sponsors of the league that will be promoted under the Club Pilsner brand. The league will be played over two months and will run every Tuesday and Wednesday.

The league has attracted eight teams that include Dream Team, Deceptions, MTN Strikers, Double Dutch, Knickers, Split Pins, M and M together with Team Capital.

Organisers said that on completion of the league the winners will move into a knockout system and will be replaced with a handicap system that will decide who plays in the sudden-death tournament.

Each team consists of six players and two points will be given for each game won by a team.

A point will be given for the highest score in any game. Prizes at stake include trophies for the six bowlers of the top four teams.

Another award will be given to the best bowler with certificates to all participants in the league.
