AS the day for the explosive Cranes -Rwanda Nations Cup match draws near, Ugandans with a sharp business acumen have grabbed the opportunity to make a quick buck.
Vendors strategically positioned both outside and inside Nakivubo stadium are selling crude, screen- printed Ugandan flags for sh1, 000 while caps bearing the national colours are going for sh2000.
Their counter parts in the sports shops along the streets of Kampala have doubled the price for replicas of the Cranes jerseys (tops) from 15,000 to a cool sh45,000 each.
“I don’t know whether they are cheating us. We have to show solidarity in Rwanda as Ugandans,” said one Mike Musoke.
Meanwhile, fans who had developed cold feet about the Rwanda trip are now scrambling to pay over sh25,000 in bus fares to Kigali.
Villa fans have so far filled up two buses, but the target is four buses to take off from Golden Table, according to the trip’s transport officer Elijah Rwabwoni.
