UWA to fight poaching

THE International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), has granted $90,000 to help the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) to combat poaching of wildlife.

THE International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), has granted $90,000 to help the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) to combat poaching of wildlife. Dr. Arthur Mugisha, UWA’s executive director said IFAW has made significant contributions to UWA: “We have been able to construct ranger guard out-posts in Kidepo and to enhance law enforcement with these funds,” he said. A massive trench will also be built in Kyambura to safe guard the villagers from elephants that have been destroying their crops.
