KAMPALA — The quota system of admission to public universities kicks off next academic year with each district allotted 50.

KAMPALA — The quota system of admission to public universities kicks off next academic year with each district allotted 50. However, 1,200 of the 4,000 state scholarships will still be accessed through the old merit system. Athmani Bilali, a senior education officer, said the committee for the decentralised selection was in place and the Uganda National Examinations Board had been asked to draw up the list of students who qualify in every district. He was speaking at Hotel Africana yesterday.
