Lira, Bubulo Polls Set

THE Electoral Commission (EC) has set May 26 as the polling date for the Lira district chairperson.<br>

THE Electoral Commission (EC) has set May 26 as the polling date for the Lira district chairperson.
A statement issued by the EC Deputy Chairperson, Sr. Margaret Magoba said polling will take place at all polling stations in Lira from 7:00am to 5:00pm. Counting of votes and declaration of results shall follow.
The position fell vacant on January 12 following the death of the district chairman, Charles Arago Odwee.
Meanwhile, the EC has announced May 22 the polling date for the Bubulo East parliamentary seat.
The position fell vacant after the former MP, Michael Mumia was disqualified for lack of academic papers.
The EC said candidates’ campaigns would take place from April 28 to May 20. It warned candidates not to use any defamatory words nor incite disorder. Ends
