EAST Kololo Primary School are set to defend their might as the MTN, Stanbic bank and Multi-choice national Mini-cricket final take centre stage at Lugogo and Kyambogo ovals tomorrow.
The championships promise thrills as 17 primary schools from five regions take on the field in a bid to claim honours of the second nation-wide edition.
Twenty-four teams from the West, East, Central, Nile and Kampala regions will tussle it out in the boys’ U-10, U-13 and girls U-10 and U-13 categories. Semi-finals and finals will be played on Sunday at Lugogo
East Kololo, the 2002 champions, will parade teams in the boys U-10, boys U-13 and girls U-10 categories after a splendid performance during the district and regional championships last month.
The champions edged Victoria Nile to lift the boys senior trophy and finished second in the girls senior category last year.
“We have been taking each stage serious,” school coach Patrick Makumbi said.
Over 2500 pupils from Kasese, Soroti, Iganga, Jinja, Mbale, Luwero, Entebbe and Kampala are expected to turn up. Ends
