BUNDIBUGYO district authorities have demanded that their border with neighbouring Kabarole district be shifted to its original position.
They said the original border passed through Kyabanyaga in Kichwamba subcounty, Kihondo, Mabale, Kahwa, Nyanguka, Kyakagusa, and Kinyamwangi in the east and Kijwiga, Busaga, Bulyambuzi, Kiduru through Semliki game reserve through Mt. Rwenzori to River Muzizi in Kabarole.
The call was made at a one-day Kabarole-Bundibugyo Border Committee meeting chaired by the Bundibugyo LC5 chairman, Jackson Bambalira, a former area MP.
They attacked the Government for what they called double standards over the border conflict.
The committee said the Government had refused to release the Kisakye Report of 1993, which was aimed at resolving the disputed boundary.
