DAYS after the Oliver Ngoma Easter show at Hotel Equatoria, one would have thought the ‘juicy’ thighs of his queen dancers were an issue of the past.

No way! The Anglican bishops from Buganda, led by Archbishop Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyooyo, are up against Katikkiro Joseph Ssemwogerere.

They say he should not have let the Buganda royal couple attend a show where dancers exposed their ‘tantalising’ thighs.

Last week, the bishops met at Namirembe and discussed the issue. They wrote a letter to Ssemwogerere and all those present signed it.

They argued that Kabaka Ronald Mutebi, as the head of the Buganda monarchy, should not attend such immoral shows.

They said the shows were a ‘disgrace’ to the society and blamed Ssemwogerere for not having stopped the Kabaka from attending.

The Oliver Ngoma show was organised to mark Mutebi’s 48th birthday.

The proceeds were to go to the Kabaka Foundation, a charity whose patron is Mutebi.

Last week, Ssemwogerere replied the bishops’ letter, saying it was not the organisers’ intention nor the kingdom’s, to take Mutebi to a show where dancers would make provocative moves.
