THE Kampala mayor has ordered M.M. Integral Construction Company to refund government money for the shoddy work it did at Mbuya Army Children’s School and St. Martin Mulago Primary School.

Ssebaana Kizito said M.M. would not be given more tenders.

M.M. won the tender to build classrooms, latrines and offices at the two schools at over sh140m under the Schools Facilitation Grant from the central Government.

Ssebaana said he was upset that the walls were cracked, the doors and floor were of poor quality after he inspected the work yesterday.

“This contractor must refund the money because the work is not satisfactory,” Ssebaana said.

“Some people set up companies yet they are not contractors. We are going to blacklist them so that they do not get any opportunity of winning tenders in Kampala,” he said.

The mayor, accompanied by his deputy Takuba Kabuye, also inspected Shimoni Demonstration School, St. Peter’s P.S Kanyanya and Kibuye Primary School.
