DAVID Lukiru scored two tries as 12-man Rams RFC beat Entebbe Mongers 25-19 in a Bell Lager shield thriller at Makerere ground on Saturday.
With the Rams trailing 19-12 after 55 minutes and looking totally beaten, captain Patrick Kakaire rallied his players for what turned a big show as his side came back into the game with sheer power.
David Oryem scored a winning try in the second half to get Rams home with three tries, two penalties and two conversions.
Meanwhile, Stephen Ojambo returned from Nairobi yesterday where he officiated in the annual Kenya Airways challenge between Kenya and Zimbabwe.
Yayiro Kasasa who is training the local squad ahead of the Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) championships July and August flanked Ojambo. Kenya beat Zimbabwe 34-24.
Meanwhile, it was all sadness at URFU after news that chairman Paul Sigombe’s wife Maria Sigombe died at Kenyatta hospital in Nairobi.
