Museveni set for ICASA

PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni will address African leaders at the 13th International Conference on AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Africa (ICASA) set for September 21-26 in Nairobi.

PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni will address African leaders at the 13th International Conference on AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Africa (ICASA) set for September 21-26 in Nairobi.

ICASA conference is a biannual forum where African scientists, political and social leaders and communities come together to share experiences and updates on the response to HIV/AIDS pandemic.

ICASA chairman Dr. D. M. Owili of Kenya, yesterday said Museveni would present a paper, contribute in discussions and share his experience in the campaign against HIV/AIDS with other regional leaders.

He said presidents Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria and his Botswana counterpart have been invited. Owili said former South African president Nelson Mandela and Zambia’s Kenneth Kaunda will also share their experiences in the campaign against AIDS.
