Polygamy end urged
KUMI – Ugandans have been advised to stop polygamy, inheritance of widows and drunkenness, which usually leads to the acquiring of HIV/AIDS disease. Max Obore, the district speaker, said this while closing a one-week training on HIV/AIDS at Atutur Primary School.

Butcher charged
JINJA – A butcher was recently charged with stealing 47kgs of meat valued at sh110,000. His employer Asuman Lukwago, allegedly caught him as he smuggled meat in a nylon sack. Amuza Kyaligamba, 47, appeared before the Grade One Magistrate, Patrick Mbangire. Prosecution led by Doreen Aya said Kyaligamba committed the offence on May 29 at the Main Street. He was remanded in Kirinya Prison until June 11.

Land case finalised
PALLISA – Agule High School land dispute has finally been settled out of court. The headmaster, Martin Okiria Obore, said recently that since the wrangle started seven years ago, the school had been at loggerheads with the squatters. He said the school had formerly 91 acres and 79 were grabbed. The land is on the hospital road.
