LIRA Assistant Resident District Commissioner, George Ewai proved an undisputed upcoming golfer over the weekend when he won the Lira Open golf tournament that was sponsored by Housing Finance company.

LIRA Assistant Resident District Commissioner, George Ewai proved an undisputed upcoming golfer over the weekend when he won the Lira Open golf tournament that was sponsored by Housing Finance company.
Ewai, who displayed magnificent performance, playing off handicap 18, finished the 36-hole event with 144 net.
Of his anticipation before entering the tournament, Ewai, with a sigh of relief said: “I thought about being the hero in this tournament before it even teed off.
“I felt I really wanted it, I am very happy to have been crowned winner.â€
Ewai's performance could have been punctuated with several birdies but the rough green affected his finishing.
The winner walked away with a trophy plus a brand new colour television.
In the ladies category, Esther O. playing off handicap 14 lifted the trophy with 159 net ahead of Alice Kego, handicap 13, who carded 164 nett.
Kego beat J. Opio handicap 17, to the runners up position on countback.
