THE Olympic Solidarity has injected $6000 (sh12m) in a shooting coaches’ course in Uganda due next week.
The 10-day course that gets underway next Saturday will be conducted by Norwegian instructors Christian Holstad and Jorgen Haugestad at Kibuli Police Training School, Garuga, Kigo and Bukasa shooting ranges.
Uganda Shooting Sports Federation president Michael Mungoma said in a press release yesterday that 25 participants including schools games masters have been selected for the training.
Ugandans will be trained in full bow rifle at 300m and 1000m, 22 rifles shooting in three positions at 50m and three positions and air gun at 10m. It is the second course the Olympic Solidarity is offering since 1996.
Last year Uganda participated in Manchester Commonwealth Games, Bisley meet in England. Cleopatra Mungoma won a bronze medal and in the South African national schools shooters’ union where she won silver.
