THE Uganda Red Cross Society has donated relief aid worth sh5m towards Mpigi storm victim, reports Patrick Serugo.
The materials including 80 blankets, 80 saucepans, 40 tarpaulin mats and ironsheets were delivered by the Mpigi Red Cross chairperson, Nalongo Kyazze, at Kanoni Health Centre grounds in Kyegonza sub-county.
The over 50 beneficiaries had their property including houses and food crops destroyed by hailstorms in February.
Kyazze, who is also the Kiringente sub-county LC3 chairperson, said most of the beneficiaries were widows who had failed to install destroyed roof tops.
The area LCI chairman, Abbey Wasswa Mukatuliki, blamed Mpigi district for failure to assist the victims.
