The inspector General of Police, Maj Gen. Katumba Wamala, has asked parents to spearhead the fight against drug abuse and alcoholism.
“The youth of today are exposed to several challenges as compared to those in the past and this poses a big threat on the rate of crime in future.
“As parents we must come out strongly and persistently play an advisory role for our children,” Katumba said.
He was on Saturday officiating at the installation dinner for the new president of the Rotary Club of the Source of the Nile at Jinja Town Hall.
Moses Kakaire took over from Benon Kwikiriza as new president for the rotary year 2003/2004.
