The Uganda Blind Sports Organisation (UBSA) is looking for sh91m to enable a team of 16 participate in the 2nd World Championship in Quebec Canada.
UBSA women’s representative Frances Candiru, who is leading the search for sponsors, said Uganda will be represented by four players in goal-ball and six field athletes in the event set for August 1-12.
“We always receive invitations but lack of funds has always let us down. So we would be very glad to have this chance,” said Candiru.
If the Uganda team succeeds in Canada they qualify for the Blind Olympics in Athens, Greece. The sh91m will cater for air tickets, passports fees, visas, up keep and preparations.
