WAKISO — The district, through the Uganda Human Rights Initiative (UHRI), has launched a crusade against child labour. District chairman, Ian Kyeyune recently warned people employing children to stop or face prosecution. He said the children should benefit from the UPE programme.

FAWE targets
KAMPALA — The Foundation of African Women Educationists, FAWE-Uganda, is targeting schools in the north in its programme of making education accessible to disadvantaged children. Vice-chairperson Rose Izizinga recently said four headteachers from the region had got scholarships for a two-week course at Tennessee State University, in the United States.

Two charged
KAMPALA — Court has ordered the directors of a local music promotion company, Jimtex (U) Ltd, to explain their failure to pay wages to a Rwandese dance group. The two directors are accused of hiring three dancers to perform in several places in the country and failing to clear the dancers’ monthly pay.
