SHAH Balkrishina smashed a blazing century as Maruti CC beat Kutchhi Madu by a humiliating 239 runs in a Castle Lager league match at Lugogo oval yesterday.
The Indian semi-professional benefited from the opponents poor fielding to score 135 runs off 115 balls before giving a catch to Shashi Patel off the pace bowling of Lalji Vijay.
Man-of-the-match Balkrishina knocked his first 50 off 38 balls and then 100 off 83 balls including 16 boundary shots and three sixes.
The opening batsman ensured a 120 run partnership with Sam Prakash (98n.o) who for the second time in the league missed his century by two runs.
At Kyambogo, Junior Kwebiiha hit his first half-century to guide ACC to a 159 run victory over Castle Development XI.
Tornado CC improved on their standings with a massive 215 run victory over student-packed side JACC at Jinja oval while opening batsmen Peter Olivier and Henry Okecho led the Crocodiles CC to a nine-wicket victory over Media CC in a Bagurusi Saturday league match.
