FUFA will receive 5000 golden balls out of those played in the 2002 World Cup finals. Sports minister Oryem Okello disclosed that the donation from FIFA contains original balls played in the World Cup hosted by Korea and Japan. The minister was addressing Busoga College Mwiri parents, teachers and students after the school’s sports day gala.

UGANDA’S sole representative to the World Youth Athletic Championship in Quebec, Canada, John Paul Surundu bowed out of the race early after finishing sixth in 100m dash on Friday. He clocked 11.49 seconds in heat four. Surundu ran below his personal best of 11.44 seconds. German Sihler Patrick won the heat in 10.67seconds.

LUWEERO Town Council FC has been banned for one year and disqualified from representing the district in the Buganda super mini league. FUFA Zone 12 chairman Yusuf Kamulegeya said yesterday that Luweero TC was banned for failure to honour the zonal mini league final against Lufula last month.
