PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni yesterday received the director of California-based Milestone Trading Ltd., Barry Nachshon, at State House, Nakasero. Nachshon is a textile and apparel businessman who supplies US departmental stores such as Walmart, Target and Seers. He was accompanied by Robert Priedland and Wanda Lee, directors of Kandy Kiss Inc. of California. They are placing orders worth US$80,000 per month under the AGOA initiative.

Expatriate dies in crash

AN American on Wednesday died after an accident at Mpala near Nkumba University on Entebbe Road. The man, only identified as Allan, was working with Centre for Disease Control at Entebbe Virus Research Institute. He was rushed to Entebbe Grade B hospital where he died after an hour.

VCCU shoots woman dead

A WOMAN was shot dead and a man critically injured when Violent Crime Crack Unit officials allegedly on a manhunt opened fire on their minibus in Wabigalo, Kisugu. Police chief Benson Oyo-Nyeko said the operatives opened fire at the minibus on suspicion that ‘wrong people’ were travelling in it.

Katikkiro mum robbed

ARMED thugs on Wednesday stormed the home of Katikkiro Joseph Ssemwogerere’s mother, Bernadetta Nantale, at Nzizi in Kibinge sub-county, Masaka district. They beat her up and took sh75,000 and household items. Nantale, 84, said the thugs struck at about 8:00pm. They tied up and beat her grandchildren.
