AFTER reccing the slippery route, this weekend’s UMC Rally favourites Charlie Lubega and Moses Lumala concurred the event is unpredictable.

Lubega (Mitsubishi Evo4) and his championship rival Lumala (Toyota Celica ST185) particularly pointed out the swampy Gavu-Kalagi and Kalagi-Namyoya sections as very risky.

“It is tricky, I feel vulnerable. It is very risky you can easily go off I will take it easy,” said Lubega seeking a record breaking fifth consecutive victory in a season.

Lubega said would not have full faith in the pace-notes because rain is bound to change the road surface.

“You never know what will happen. Trenches may become bigger when it rains,” TOTAL Rally Team’s Lubega said.

His Caltex Rally Team rival Lumala said the wet route would affect his pace.

“If you go off in a swampy area there is certainly no recovery. It is really a good test of skill but unpredictable and risky,” Lumala said.

“I will still do my best, I am determined to give Caltex good results.”

The fifth round of the National Rally Championship (NRC) series is organised by Uganda Motor Club (UMC).

The rally will start with a super special stage at Kaazi tomorrow before the second leg on Sunday that will be flagged off at Dolphin Suites in Bugolobi.

Scrutineering of cars will be conducted tomorrow at Gelp Nakulabye station at 7.00am. All cars are expected at Kaazi by 11.00am in time for the first run at noon.

Alpha Dairy, Gelp, CBS FM, MTN and Joker’s Sports Bar are sponsors of the event.
