RUBAGA south MP John Ken Lukyamuzi has defied demands that he demolishes his house, saying it was not built in a wetland.
“Those who are agitating for the demolition of my house just want to make me appear a laughing stock and are tarnishing my reputation. My house is not in a wetland,” he said.
Lukyamuzi was responding to the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) chairman, Dr. Eric Edroma’s statement, asking him (Lukyamuzi) to demolish his house.
Lukyamuzi argued that his house lies within the Nalukolongo industrial area and that it is legal to build a house there.
Lukyamuzi, a renowned environmentalist, allegedly built his home in Wankulukuku swamp, which is against the NEMA rules and regulations.
