THE FUFA technical committee meets today to propose a new national coach for the Cranes

THE FUFA technical committee meets today to propose a new national coach for the Cranes.

FUFA technical vice president John Baptist Ssemanobe is expected to chair the committee meeting at the federation’s headquarter in Mengo. The meeting will be a continuation of the inconclusive July 11 gathering that saw members request for more time to verify the information forwarded to them by the coaches.

The rate of late entries has put the technical committee’s decision in today’s meeting in jeopardy as two more Brazilians were reported to have applied for the job. The total number of applicants is 11.

Divanildo Jose de Oliveira, a member of the Brazil national squad between 1976-79 and Rildo Menezez, a former Brazilian international are the recent applicants.

“Their history is rich and the technical committee will really need time to scrutinise their performance,” said FUFA secretary Haruna Mawanda yesterday.

The duo joined the nine others — Rico Luiz (Brazil), Pipi Penalba (Argentina), Pedro Pablo Pasculli (Argentina), Dragan Popadic (Serbia), Allan Serris (Britain), Ivosajh Scheich (Slovenia), Charles Mbure (Kenya), Lyobomir Matovic (Serbia) and Tchcanile Banna (Togo).

Pasculli is still out of the country following his request to attend to his sick father.
