UGANDA powered their way to the semi-finals of Kenya Table Tennis Open championships with a 100 per cent record as the event entered its second day at Parklands Arya Club in Nairobi, Friday.

However, Uganda will have to improve on their game if they are to qualify for Saturday's finals.

After eclipsing St. Teresa's 3-1 on Thursday in their first game, Uganda went ahead to beat Kenya's National Social Security Fund 3-0 in their second encounter.

Uganda continued with the same style in their third game, trouncing Telkom Kenya 3-1 before scoring a similar win against Aga Khan to a semi final berth.

Kenya Table Tennis Association secretary Edwin Mudibo said although Uganda had reached the last four without losing a game they appeared to suffer from the effects of losing the majority of their players.

Jackson Migadde and Jude Mutete contributed greatly to Uganda's meteoric performance especially against pre-tournament favourites St. Teresa's.

More Ugandans were due in singles last evening. Seven players are featuring for the country.
