THE gender ministry has recruited the first batch of community development officers (CDOs), for deployment at the subcounties.
Sam Bitangaro, the gender state minister, on Tuesday presided over the induction ceremony for the recruits, all university graduates, at Nsamizi Training Institute for Social Development in Mpigi district.
He said the recruits would help implement Government programmes in fighting poverty at the sub-counties under community development.
The recruits will work in Tororo, Mukono, Yumbe, Mpigi and Wakiso.
They will link government programmes to the communities, he said.
