Odongo, who was officiating at the fundraising for Kanyum sub-county mosque construction in Kumi district recently, said Muslims should not join terrorism but should be united.
He commended the Iteso for rejecting the Kony-led invasion.
Odongo said unity and peace were prerequisites to development.
About sh3m was raised in cash at the function.
Christine Amongin Aporu, the state minister for disaster preparedness, urged residents to join the arrow group to fight the rebels Teso.
She denied having interests in Radio Veritas FM of Soroti, which she was alleged to have closed.
