AT least 20 LC5 councillors from Mbale district on Tuesday stormed Kampala to hand in their petition to oust district chairman Bernard Mujasi, reports Geresom Musamali.
The local government administration and inspection director, Tom Mate, received the petition in his office on Workers’ House on Tuesday.
The councillors are seeking to oust Mujasi for allegedly using under-hand methods of work and attempting to usurp the powers of district statutory bodies.
Other copies were sent to the Inspector General of Government and the Mbale parliamentary caucus chairman, David Wakikona.
The delegation leader, William Washaki, said they had sent a copy to the district speaker, Ferdinand Natsomi.
