20 students arrested
KAMPALA —The Police on Friday arrested over 20 students at Kawempe Public Senior Secondary School over allegations of destroying school property during a riot. The students rioted after the director, Hasad Matovu, expelled three of their colleagues accusing them of behaving indecently.

Campaigns kick off
NAKASONGOLA— The women MP by-election battle, pitting out-going Margaret Kyomuhendo whose tenure was nullified by court, against archrival Grace Tubwita, have started. The candidates, nominated on Tuesday, face the fate of the ballot box on August 28.

Policeman released
KAMPALA — The General Court Martial has freed a policeman who has been facing charges of murder and aggravated robbery. The court declared Jackson Tusiime, attached to Bujenje Local Administration, a freeman after the State lost interest in the case.

City gets new lights
Kampala — The City Council has installed street lights on five city roads in the last two months. The roads are Lugogo By-Pass, Station, Access, Kafumbe Mukasa and Kisenyi, all in the Central Division.
