GOVERNMENT has availed 4.5 million tea plantlets to Kanungu district for the promotion of quality tea growing in the area

GOVERNMENT has availed 4.5 million tea plantlets to Kanungu district for the promotion of quality tea growing in the area.

The plantlets worth sh900m will be multiplied in nursery beds before they are distributed to farmers.

Defence minister Amama Mbabazi said it is government policy to support private sector investment in development programmes.

Addressing staff of Kayonza Growers Tea Factory during a meeting at Kayonza Guest House, Mbabazi said, President Yoweri Museveni appreciated the role of tea growers.

The district woman MP, Jacqueline Kyatuheire, said Kanungu was becoming a model district because of its improved infrastructure.
