45 killed
MBARARA – A total of 45 people died in road accidents in the district in the last seven months, the district traffic officer has said. Fiona Baine, said at Mbarara central Police station recently that 50 people were seriously injured during the same period. She said 11 people died in January, four in February, six in March, six in April, four in May, 10 in June and four in July.

Bus kills one
BUSHENYI – A woman died instantly when a speeding bus ran over her as she crossed the road at Harutindo, 2.5km on the Mbarara-Kabale road. The Police said the accident occurred at around 10.30am recently when the Jaguar bus number UAE 851J travelling from Rwanda to Kampala failed brake.

Man vows
Bushenyi – District speaker Odo Tayebwa has vowed to unseat trade state minister Richard Nduhura in the next parliamentary elections. Nduhura is Igara East the MP. He won the seat after a hot race with the late Spencer Turwomwe. Odo was swearing in student leaders of Kyeizooba Girls on Wednesday.
