KAMPALA — A jealous husband stabbed his wife to death in a local brew pub in Kisaasizi zone Makindye division on Sunday. Moses Enyou murdered Alice Atuko who had gone to meet a friend in the pub. The Police chief, Benson Oyo-Nyeko, yesterday said the couple had lived together but separated following an affair marred by quarrels. Enyou was arrested as he fled.

UPDF kill 2 in Kitgum
KITGUM — The UPDF in the Fifth Division on Sunday killed two Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels in a helicopter gunship air raid at Palabek. The army spokesman based in the north, Lt. Paddy Ankunda, yesterday said UPDF troops captured one rebel and rescued 19 captives in Acet, Lalogi sub-county in Omoro county. He said nine rebels had surrendered.

Lightning kills two kids
KIBAALE — Three primary school pupils of Rweduba Primary School in Kakindo sub-county were recently killed when lightning struck their school during an afternoon thunderstorm. The chief administrative officer, Simon Kimono, said 10 pupils were injured. Kimono identified the dead as Grace Nannyonga, Caroline Nakasongola and Elizabeth Kyalisiima.

Police find marijuana
JINJA — The Police on Saturday recovered narcotic drugs and a marijuana plantation. The district Police commander, Patrick Mugizi, said they were recovered from John Obwora’s home in Namayemba village Kapyanga sub-county.
