Cecilia Lwanga fired par 72 nett to win group A of the Lady President’s Shield tournament at Kitante course Saturday.

Cecilia Lwanga fired par 72 nett to win group A of the Lady President’s Shield tournament at Kitante course Saturday.
Lwanga, who had a largely bogey free game in the 18-hole competition, edged out Gertrude Acato by one shot to claim the shiny trophy handed to her by gender, labour and social welfare minister Zoe Bakoko.
Acato beat Rose Musoke to second position on count back of the tournament sponsored by Uganda Ladies Golf Union president Alice Kego.
Grace Obua maintained her streak of good form — emerging top in group B with 72 nett. She shot three over on hole 17 to beat second placed Jessica Abola by five strokes. Regina Ddamulira was third.
Monica Ntege with 82 and Charles Yokwe at 79 won the women and men’s gross categories.
