THE Police Training School (PTS) at Kibuli lacks beds and all the 217 officers currently undergoing training at the school sleep on the floor, reports Steven Candia.

The accommodation woes of the school worsened after 300 double-decker beds in the school that had been borrowed from Masindi Police training school were returned to the sister institution.

The Commissioner of Police in charge human resource management, Chris Opio, yesterday said beds at the school were “quite a problem”, but said management had secured some money to solve it.

Beds were among several other problems raised by the commandant of the school, Felix Ndyomugenyi, during the official opening of a three-month promotional course at the PTS.

About 128 Police officers, many of them sergeants from Police units countrywide, are attending the course, which will see them elevated to the rank of assistant inspector of Police. The coure will end soon.
