THE people of Kibale sub-county in Pallisa district have volunteered to join the Arrow Group to fight the Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) rebels.

Arrow Group is a local militia force formed in the Teso region, following the LRA rebel incursions into the region.

They said they did not want to fall back as the insurgency that previously led to loss of lives and property in the region in the 1990s prevailed.

This was contained in memorandum read by the area LC3 chairman, Simon Ochieng, while meeting the resident district commissioner, Geoffrey Kyomukama, at the sub-county headquarters on Tuesday.

Kibale borders Kumi district.

Ochieng said residents vowed to flush out any suspected rebel infiltrators and collaborators who enter their area disguised as traders.
