EU advises
KASESE — A senior European union (eu) consultant, Cecile Levecq, has said poverty cannot be routed out unless basic needs are addres-sed. She was on Wednesday addressing executive members of the Civic Education Association at the start of her tour of EU-funded projects in the district.

New library
KAMPALA — Makerere university’s faculty of Social Sciences is to integrate all its book banks into one library. The dean, Dr. Edward Kirumira, said this during an interview at his office recently. He said the old system required only those students offering a particular subject to use books in a given department.

LC1 arrested
MALABA — The Police recently impounded 470kgs of marijuana and arrested an LC1 vice- chairman in connection with the illicit drug trade. Yokana Orono of Akolodongo was arrested with two other suspects.
