Uganda Cup semi-finals

Kobs 31 Pirates 6
Heathens 42 Impis 5

SIMON Wakabi made four conversions, scored a try and a penalty to lead Mango Kobs to a 31-6 victory over the Black Pirates in the semi-final of the Bell Uganda Cup at Kampala club on Saturday.
The result means Kobs storm the final of the annual championships, where they will play against archrivals Heathens, who hammered Hima Impis 42-5.
It was a perfect display by upcoming Wakabi, who planted a penalty into the posts of the opponents, just before flanker Michael Wandera chipped in with a try to give Kobs a halftime lead of 10-6.
Pirates’ only scores came from U-19 international player Anthony Kinene, who made no mistake to smartly plant two penalties into the opponent’s goal posts.
Gilbert Kigudde, and Timothy Mudola ensured that the six-time league champions dominate the second half with a try each.
The Pirates played an aggressive game but had themselves to blame when they wasted many chances from penalties.
At Kyadondo ground, it was a one-sided affair as the hosts thumped Hima Impis 42-5 to storm the final of the championship.
Robert Seguya played a pivotal role, scoring a try and making all the conversions.
Gason Onono, Mark Olweny, Michael Kegwin and Andrew Owor scored a try each.
The final is set for Saturday at Kyadondo.
