THE displaced Bakiga at Lugogo are likely to face starvation due to the numbers that have doubled from the original 150 to about 300 people, an official in the Office of the Prime Minister has said.
Martin Owor, the deputy commissioner for disaster preparedness yesterday said a big number of impostors had joined the group, creating a squeeze on food supplies.
Richard Bagazonga, the group deputy chairman said food supplies got finished after 15 days and people were starving.
Owor attributed the problem to illegal infiltration into the camp by impostors.
He said some Bakiga doing odd jobs in Kampala heard that the plans to get land for the group were ripe and joined colleagues in the camp to enjoy the benefits.
