‘Tycoons evade tax’
KAYUNGA – The LC5 chairman, Steven Dagada, has lashed out at businessmen evading graduated tax. Dagada said this while officiating at the launch of a measles immunisation campaign at Kangulumira sub-county headquarters recently. He said tycoons were the major tax defaulters.

Man held for murder
KAMULI – The Police have arrested Tadeo Kaimanji for allegedly murdering his mother. Kaimanji allegedly hit his 65-year-old mother Alice Kagoya on the head using a pestle. Kamuli CID Officer Joseph Obwona said he would be taken to Butabika hospital.

RDC advises on security
KAMULI – The RDC, Clement Kandole, has advised residents at the shores of Lake Kyoga to report suspicious people to guard against rebels who could use the waters to attack the area. Kandole said this on a tour of Bulamoji county recently.

FPAU boss asks students
IGANGA – The manager of the Family Planning Association of Uganda (FPAU) in the district, Suzan Taaka, has asked students to enlighten other members of society about measles immunisation. She was recently speaking to secondary school students at Nambaale sub-county.
