Migadde faces Tanzanians

UGANDA’s number one player Jackson Migadde will come up against five Tanzanian stars in the Uganda table tennis Open starting tomorrow.

UGANDA’s number one player Jackson Migadde will come up against five Tanzanian stars in the Uganda table tennis Open starting tomorrow.

The Tanzanians have already entered the four-day event to end on Sunday at Lugogo Indoor stadium.

Migadde’s rivals are Rajen Doshi, Malick Mwasora, Seif Zulfiker, Keyur Kothari and Nishit Desai.

They will face other local stars including veteran George Yiga, Martin Olweny, Kevin Mafabi, three-time Olympian Mary Musoke and Monica Kisakye.

The Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA) event has also got a sponsorship boost from a Tanzania firm Tanga Cement.

UTTA official Brian Kaganda, said Straight Talk Foundation offered 100 T-shirts.

“We are moving steadily and have been promised more assistance,” Kaganda said.

Action will be in the men’s singles and doubles, the women’s singles and doubles. The U-14 boys’ singles and doubles and U-17 boys’ singles and doubles will also be held.
