Thugs attack
RAKAI — Armed robbers attacked residents of Bitabago trading centre on Wednesday and stole property worth millions of shillings. Police said they had arrested a suspect but declined to reveal the name for “security reasons.”

Bye-law out
MPIGI — Residents of Kyegonza sub-county recently passed a bye-law barring selling of alcohol beyond midnight. The LC3 chairman, Ste-ven Matovu, said bar owners and their clients would be taken to court.

CAO blamed
SSEMBABULE — The LC5 chairman, Herman Ssentongo, has blamed the outgoing CAO for frustrating district programmes. He was addre-ssing residents recently.

Defiler jailed
MUBENDE — The High Court recently sentenced Fred Kakooza to four years after he pleaded guilty to defiling a 15-year-old girl in 1999.

Vendors out
