SOROTI – Arrow Group coordinator Musa Ecweru has been converted to a born again Christian. Ecweru, a former Anglican Christian, denounced his “worldly ways” on Sunday before a congregation at St. Peter’s Church. A preacher of the Anglican Mothers’ Union in Uganda, the Rev. Helen Oneka prayed for him.

Odoki in Germany
KAMPALA – Chief Justice Benjamin Odoki and four judges are in Germany on a judicial exchange programme. The programme has been organised by Konrad Adenauer-Stiftung (KAF) Uganda office. A statement by KAF country representative Wolfgang Hilberer said the move would strengthen constitutionalism.

Graduation for Nov 21
KAMPALA – Makerere University 44th Graduation has been set for November 21, the academic Registrar Sebastin Ngobi said on Friday. He said the delay in setting the day was due to the lack of a chancellor. He however, said if there was no chancellor by then, the Vice-Chancellor would preside over the function.

No holiday for measles
KAMPALA – The national mass measles immunisation days will not be public holidays, the city education officer, Kewaaza Muwonge said on Friday. Muwonge said, “October 15-19 will be normal working days on the school calendar and all teachers must be on duty to ensure the success of the exercise.” He was meeting head teachers of primary schools in the city at Bat Valley Primary School.
